The English courses

The General English course includes 15 hours (20 lessons) of English language study with EFL experienced teachers. ISC is accredited by the British Council and our teachers are appointed in accordance with their guidelines and are carefully selected for their attitude, commitment and communicative ability. They will focus particularly on developing your spoken and listening language skills and improving your confidence and fluency.

You will be tested on arrival day and put into the correct level of class. We have a range of levels from elementary to advanced. Please note we do not accept complete beginners.

The first 2 lessons each day are general English and are designed to develop your listening skills encourage maximum use of spoken English. Your teacher will work with you on appropriate language for your level.

In the third lesson you will learn about British culture and prepare for excursions. In the fourth lesson you will prepare your project, which culminates in your participation in a theatre show at the end of the course.

An Intensive course is offered in August only for students aged 14+ and supplements the general English course with an additional 6 lessons (5 hours) of conversational English. During the extra lessons you will be able to develop your communication skills through debate, discussion and language games. This course is suitable for students with at least intermediate level of English.

Classes are small with a maximum of 16 students so the teachers really get to know you and can help you make the most progress possible. Learning is fun and we try to make students feel relaxed and at home so they can really learn to the best of their ability
